Watching the sun go behind the trees
Listening to the birds sing their young to sleep
Feeling the coolness of the night creep across my skin
It is so perfect
Except the picture is not whole
But there is one thing missing
You are not here with me
There is an irony
Such sour irony in you not being with me
Cause you are perfect
And we are missing a perfect evening together

Listening to the birds sing their song in the morning
My ears wishing it was you singing with your lovely voice
Watching the sun come up above the mountains
Wishing it was your beauty my eyes were taking in
Feeling the sun begin to blare down on me
Wishing it was your hand that I was feeling
Everything is perfect
But there is one thing missing
You are not here with me
There is an irony
Such sour irony in you not being with me
Cause you are perfect
And we are missing a perfect morning together

Watching the sun go behind the trees
Listening to the birds sing their young to sleep
Feeling the coolness of the night creep across my skin
It is so perfect
Except the picture is not whole
But there is one thing missing
You are not here with me
There is an irony
Such sour irony in you not being with me
Cause you are perfect
And we are missing a perfect evening together

Listening to the crickets serenade the night
Watching the stars shoot across the sky
Feeling the wind whip through my hair
Smelling the fresh rain on the grass
Everything is perfect
But there is one thing missing
You are not here with me
There is an irony
Such sour irony in you not being with me
Cause you are perfect
And we are missing a perfect night together
